The Barcelona Musculoskeletal MRI Course, 12th – 13th of October, 2012

Feb 7th, 2012

The Barcelona Musculoskeletal MRI course is a hands-on course for radiologists with a special interest in musculoskeletal radiology to optimise their technique for the reporting of adult and paediatric MRI scans of the knee and shoulder.

Telemedicine Clinic is accredited by the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME) to provide the following CME activity for medical specialists. The EACCME is an institution of the European Union of Medical Specialists (UEMS), www.uems.net.

The The Barcelona Musculoskeletal MRI course is designated for a maximum of (or ‘for up to’) 12 hours of European external CME credits. Each medical specialist should claim only those hours of credit that he/she actually spent in the educational activity. (12 European CME credits of accredition)

Educational objectives. This course is aimed at radiologists with some experience in musculoskeletal radiology. There are three components to the course:

1.
Lecture-based and small-group training to cover the interpretation of MRI scans of the knee and shoulder in both the paediatric and adult populations. The course attendees will learn aspects of anatomy and pathology to help them interpret scans ranging from the common and simple pathologies to the rare and more complex processes.

2.
Clear, concise and comprehensive reporting of the images is as important as an understanding of the pathology. Therefore the course faculty who all have many years experience in radiology both in conventional settings and in teleradiology will provide guidance in producing a report which meets the requirements of a diverse and demanding group of referring clinicians.

3.
The hands-on component of the course will allow time for the course participants to create their own reports on cases from our comprehensive image library which will then be double reported and critically evaluated by the faculty.
