TMC brings Round-the-clock Diagnostic Services to Hospitals across Europe
March 10th 2008– Telemedicine Clinic (TMC), a provider of sub-specialist diagnostic services, launched its 24/7 On-Call service today at the ongoing European Congress of Radiology, exhibition stand number 569, Expo E. TMC recently opened a second centre in Sydney, Australia specifically to cover nighttime cases in Europe. Taking advantage of the time difference between Europe and Australia, the centre can now provide reporting services for night-time emergencies, with a turnaround time of down to15 minutes for urgent cases.
“We set up this service to provide an option to hospitals to relieve radiologists from working night shifts,” says David Backström, CEO of TMC. “It is ultimately a matter of medical quality for the patients, better quality of life for radiologists and large cost savings for hospitals.”
The On-Call site in Australia is definitely a smart way forward in that radiologists are awake and alert during daylight hours to read cases at any level of complexity, supporting hospitals on the other side of the world where the rest of us are ready for bed.
